DealStringer borrows its vocabulary from the newsroom: a stringer files a brief about a beat. Each daily file has a lede and a kill log. The desk reads every reply. These are the twelve terms you'll see across the product.
The File.

The daily email. Three to seven curated stories filed every weekday at 06:30 ET. Each File opens with a Lede and ends with a Kill Log. There is no Saturday or Sunday edition. "Did you read today's File?"
Stringer.
▌ NOUN · THE WORKER
The AI agent system plus the human editor that produces a customer's File. Named after newsroom correspondents who file daily briefs from a remote beat. Every rep on every team gets their own stringer. "Your stringer is reading overnight."
Beat.
▌ NOUN · THE SCOPE
A customer's defined territory plus vertical plus buying signals — the editorial scope a Stringer works. Beats are set in The Brief and adjusted any time. "What's your beat?" "Healthcare CISOs in the Northeast."
Lede.
▌ NOUN · THE TOP STORY
The top-priority story in a daily File. The Lede answers the question: of everything we saw overnight, this is the most worth your time. (Newsroom spelling — same word as "lead.") "Tomorrow's Lede is a Pacific Yield M&A."
Kill Log.
▌ NOUN · THE TRANSPARENCY
A list inside every File of stories that were evaluated and dropped, with a one-line reason for each. Editorial-discipline transparency. The Kill Log is often longer than the File itself. "Read the Kill Log so you trust the File."
The Brief.
▌ NOUN · THE INTAKE
The customer intake form. Filled out once at signup with territory, vertical, signals, exclusions, and voice. Re-opened any time via a magic-link in any File. This is how DealStringer replaces the dashboard. "Re-brief your stringer."
The Desk.
▌ NOUN · THE SUPPORT
DealStringer's customer support inbox at desk@dealstringer.com. Editors read every reply. The Desk is also the name of the management tier — Team Desk, Team Desk Pro — because managers triage from the same inbox model. "Forward this to The Desk."
Mark up your file.
▌ VERB · THE FEEDBACK LOOP
Replying to a File with reactions, corrections, or requests. The editor reads them, the Stringer adapts. By story 50, customer Files sound like the customer wrote them. "Marked up today's file — story 3 was off-beat."
Re-file.
▌ VERB · THE MANAGER MOVE
Forwarding a story from a manager's File to a specific rep on their team. The Team Desk primitive: the manager reads, the manager re-files. Available on Team Desk and above. "Re-filed story 4 to Marcus."
First Read.

DealStringer's trial: one full story unlocked in a real File with the other stories blurred. Designed so you experience the editorial before you subscribe. There is no standard free-trial month. "Got your First Read yet?"
Trigger event.

The reason a story is worth filing today. Every story in a File carries one: M&A close, new exec hire, RFP posting, breach disclosure, funding round, or compliance deadline. "What's the trigger?" "New CISO, 30-day evaluation window."
The Wire.

DealStringer's delivery system. When "the Wire is up," Files are shipping at 06:30 ET. Status of The Wire is reported on the Status page. "The Wire is up. Files filed."
